Memorial Presbyterian Church in Midland, MI has been producing high end video recordings of their services for a very long time. Recently they decided they were in need of an equipment upgrade and that is where Simoni Systems comes in. Church volunteers knew they wanted a better picture quality and enhanced titling and overlay capabilities with the ability to easily stream and record. The decision was made to replace all of the old PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) standard definition cameras with high definition Panasonic PTZ cameras. These new cameras utilized NDI technology allowing each camera to use a single CAT6 cable for power, control, and video transmission. This greatly reduced cost in wire and installation while still providing a broadcast quality image. Six Panasonic AW-HE130 PTZ cameras were placed around the sanctuary to capture the services. A vMix software based video mixing computer manages all of the video switching, mixing, titling, streaming and recording. The new system provides increased functionality and streamlines use making it easy for volunteers to operate.
