When the Saginaw Spirit needed a new sound system for the Dow Event Center they turned to Simoni Systems knowing that our expertise in stadium and sports audio is second to none. Listening to the Saginaw Spirit’s concerns for both audio in the area and on their radio broadcast we were able to custom tailor a plan to get them on the right track.
Simoni Systems designed an EASE (Enhanced Audio Simulator for Engineers) model ensuring even and intelligible coverage arena wide. Ultimately choosing Electro-Voice EVH-1152S/96 speakers for the best overall coverage. In conjunction with the speakers, a QSC Core 110f digital signal processor was used to manage all of the speaker processing.
In addition to the speaker system a new Allen & Heath digital mixing console was provided to manage and mix all of the audio during game day. Audio sources include an announcer, DJ music, and ice microphones. The ice microphones played a huge role in the improvement of audio for the Saginaw Spirit’s radio broadcast which was lacking ice microphones.
Across the board the audio system upgrades at the Dow Event Center for the Saginaw Spirit improved the overall game day experience for fans in the area and on the radio.
